Blue lupins towering over the borders in May

Bright red Geum Mrs Bradshaw have added a delightful swathe of colour to the beds during early summer 2007. They are more enduring than poppies and their little heads dance proudly above the foliage

Escholtzia, or Californian poppies, start flowering in February and make a striking sight when seen in full sun.

Penstemons thrive and flower from late May through to early December

Euphorbias of many kinds grow wild in the mountains here and are ideally suited to our garden.

The round bed is an area divided into mixed planting areas, surrounded by box hedging. These beds contain colour throughout the year and have been a experiment in seeing what will survive and thrive.

Round garden in mid summer with lavendar, nicotiana, verbena bonareinsis, coreopsis, lilies, cynara, hollyhocks, salvias, delphiniums, perovskia, dahlias, roses, hemorocalis, corcosmia and penstemons all in flower together.
